q

What does a typical home in Shioya look like?

a
Here is how a resident answered that question!
“The kitchen and breakfast room are nice and spacious. I like our western appliances. We are surrounded by trees in a very park like setting. We have two and a half bathrooms. There are four bedrooms and a lot of storage spaces throughout the house. Located below our garage is also another huge storage room. We also have a large patio, which is lovely.”
q

How big is the garage?

a
Most houses have space for two vehicles and can accommodate recreational vehicles as well.
q

Please tell me about your concierge service

a
All the residents point out the wonderful service of the Shioya Tochi staff. Truly, it is unforced praise! Here is a typical quote from a resident:

“Life is 100% better because of the support of Shioya Tochi and of the club. They provide exceptional service.”
q

Is an internet service provided?

a
Cable and fiber optic speed internet is available. We install the internet connection prior to the new tenant’s arrival.
q

How about storage space?

a
Each house has been designed from the point of view of providing as much storage space as possible; there is really ample for most requirements.
q

Are we allowed to keep pets?

a
The estate is designed to allow residents to keep pets. All the yards are fenced in and gated, so there is little risk of pets straying.

Vet services: There is an English speaking vet service, called Kitasuma Clinic, only a 15-minute drive away. There is also an excellent kennel and boarding service nearby, called Paws, which is run by Mr. Urs Pfenninger, a Swiss national. It takes the stress out of leaving Japan for extended periods.
q

What security is in place?

a
In general, break-ins and other kinds of security risk are very low in Japan. James Yama is designed as a private estate and there are barriers across certain entrances into the estate to stop unauthorised cars entering. There is a security guard who is on duty all night and patrols the neighbourhood. Each home also has its own home security system installed.
q

Is maintenance of the yard provided?

a
Maintenance of the yard is provided by our gardeners. Residents can plant flowers or change the garden to make it more personal. The size of each yard varies, but most have ample space, similar to an American yard.
